About
Old Codgers* Doing Things for Hallowell is a group created with the goal of making our great city of Hallowell an even better place to live, work and raise a family. Are you bored at home? Do you feel like you haven't connected with your fellow Hallowellians? Is your partner threatening to kick you out if you don't stop bothering them? Do you want to meet people with similar interests/goals. If you answered yes to any of the above questions, this might be the cure. As with many other communities, Hallowell doesn't have the financial resources to carry out some of the more minor, yet important tasks to keep our city beautiful and vibrant. I have had several discussions with Tom Goraj, director of HPW. I envision this being a group of citizens who would meet once a week or so to do those small jobs HPW doesn't have the time or money to perform. For the initial job, I would like to clean the glass and repaint (as needed) the street lamps on Water St. and Second St. Additionally, I would like to work on the northern entrance sign to Hallowell. I would encourage people to suggest small jobs that make our streets look more presentable (straightening street signs, etc). Members can post suggestions on the site. *Old age not required
