"Chairity" begins at home -

The Hallowell waterfront chairs will be moved to storage on Sunday, November 1st at 11:00 am. With many hands and trucks, it goes very fast. Chairs will be stored in the rear portion of the Recycling Center. Space has already been created and does not affect the recycling area.

Note: This is not an "official" Old Codgers event - I just know people have been asking when the move is taking place. Feel free to join at https://www.facebook.com/events/s/winter-chair-storage/1760456101915810/

Thanks

This beautiful morning the Old Codgers assembled at the Hubbard Free Library to clean up the outside.

This was probably my favorite meeting to date. We had another great, enthusiastic crew. Weeds were pulled and weed whacked, hedges and trees trimmed, relocated the book depository box, granite bench power washed, steps cleaned and even got the interior clock working.

This group of dedicated volunteers reinforces for me that given the opportunity, we all can really make a difference in our community. I know there are many others in the community who are capable of joining this fine group.

Next Wednesday we will be at the Hallowell Cemetery. Come join us. 9:00AM.

I’m involved with the Friends of the Hubbard. We have lots of plants left from our plant sale this past weekend. They are available for free at the library now. If anyone you know or projects that might need perennials, they are there for the taking!

Thank you for all you have done for the Hubbard. Jennifer

Clean up cemetary

Hi,
2 things:
First, the library still needs some work along the road on the back. We made a good start but need to finish up by the roadside trees.

Second, the Wednesday AM format conflicts with the monthly Age Friendly Comm. meeting at 10:30 tomorrow, on second Wed of the month.

Not a big deal, just means I will need to leave the cemetery by 10:15 or so to make the other meeting.

I have a cordless hedge trimmer, glad to bring it

— Jon

That sounds great David. Thanks!

— Kieran

Kieran - I have a tired old plug-in electric hedge trimmer - do you want me to bring that along with an extension cord?

— David Perkins

A smaller, but no less dedicated, group of volunteers this morning. Spent time at the southern city entrance and removed more invasives. Exposed two hydrangeas and one rhododendron.

Working on next weeks project plan
